The eCitizen application is used to use a physical ID card with a chip (a plastic card with a contact chip) for logging in (via the Internet) to public administration portals.
The eObčanka application for the Android mobile platform issued by the Ministry of the Interior is used for the electronic identification and authentication of holders of ID cards issued after 1 July 2018 in relation to online services and portals provided mainly by public administration. In order to use this application to log in to online services and portals provided in particular by the public administration, the holder of an ID card issued after 1 July 2018 must first have activated the electronic function of the ID card (i.e. entered the DOK - unblocking personal code and IOK - identification personal code at the office code) and further, that the holder has one of the supported bluetooth smart card readers available: ACS (ACR 3901 U-S1 Bluetooth contact smartcard reader), Feitian (bR301 BLE – c45 /black variant/) or AirID (Business 2), or USB reader connected via USB OTG with the device. If the device supports the use of a USB OTG reader, the Manage Card Readers screen informs the user of this option. USB OTG readers do not require any additional pairing and will automatically appear in the list of connected readers after connecting to the device.
